When German Chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel opened the second site of the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC) in Berlin in February 2019, she emphasized the importance of cross-border cooperation in research and across national borders. The open architecture of the new building, into which the Berlin Institute for Medical Systems Biology (BIMSB) has moved, stands for the future. It offers space for cross-border top-level biomedical research for 250 researchers in 16 laboratories.
The scientists are researching to better understand the influence of genes on the life of cells in health and disease - a basis for individual medicine of the future.
Waldner equipped the laboratory complex of over 5,000 m² with laboratory furniture and fume cupboards.
